help me dress up like a cool bard

y'know. if you want

Gang, the wins just keep coming. Fall is here, so the miserable oppression of summer will soon be gone (right after it makes one or two death throes of course). I finally own a vehicle -- if you know me, you know this is a Big Deal. I have two incredible girlfriends now, which they didn't even tell me was possible when I was a kid, and it makes you wonder what else they were hiding. I helped put out a damn game.

I won't pretend it's been all sunshine and rainbows but it's been a lot of sunshine and rainbows.

I'd like to take a moment to address something I considered putting in the big transgender post and ended up cutting for tone.

Sometimes I will hear a pre-transition Gender Explorer say some shit that is just plainly incorrect and is holding them back. Something like, "it's too late for me to do hormones," or, "there's nothing I can do to not look like [my assigned gender]," that kind of thing. I'd like to introduce them to a thought: There's a word in English for someone who's really fucking bummed out at the thought that no one would look at them and see a woman. That word? I'll give you a hint: It starts with W.

You might not be pretty. It's well-worn advice that you'll probably look a bit like your mom, but bitch what's wrong with that? You have to remember that everyone is to some degree upset about not fitting beauty standards. Actresses, models, the hottie who works at the coffee shop who you'd never try to flirt with because she's on the clock and has no polite way to extract from that situation if she's not comfortable. Everyone. You're not special.

It's okay to be upset about that. There's a lot of money being spent every single day to make you feel that way. But it's not okay to let that feeling pin you down forever. It may very well kill you. Fuck that.

It's really easy to stop hormones. Within the first couple months of feminizing HRT you can stop and go right back to "normal" with no lasting consequences. You'll know if it's right for you before then, I think.

I'll probably stop blogging about transgender stuff now. I don't have a whole lot else to say. I'll get back to writing about elfgames once I've played some more of em -- life's been a little too busy to commit to weekly sessions, but I'm told my schedule will normalize soon and/or I'll transfer to a new location, or a new job, or something, to be able to have that again. In the meantime, you can help me live a medieval fantasy in a different way, if you like.

As an aside, I've put about 50 bucks into this blog this year and I was hoping it'd become self sustaining through donations. It hasn't, which was always the more likely outcome, and I reckon I've given it long enough. I'll lose the ability to embed images (look how much I'm using it, lol) and to have a cute little blogroll, but I'll gain 6 bucks a month that I can use on groceries, so it's hard to be too bummed about that. It's truly no big deal, but if you like the blog and you have some spare change consider tossing a coin to your Witcher. I won't be putting it towards the blog but I'll still appreciate it.

Shit, if I get funded for the costume I'll record a cover of that song and do a video in costume about it. I make music you know. Could be fun.

Alright bye for now!
